Decisions and recommendations of AMJA’s third annual convention

In The Name Of Allah The Beneficent The Merciful

Praise be to Allah and His prayers and peace be upon His Messenger. Now that:

Members of The Assembly of Muslim Jurists in America (AMJA), along with a host of Nigerian Shari`ah scholars, convening in their Third Annual Conference, “”Coexistence Between Civilizations”", in Sokoto – Nigeria, July 21 – 25, 2005 / Jumada (II) 15 – 19, 1426 A. H., while their ears have been tingling with the bad news of the vicious explosions that shattered the peaceful resort of Sharm El-Sheikh in Egypt, as well as the previous similar explosions in other places, they declare that Islam, which came as a mercy for all mankind, and which the Messenger of Allah, His prayers and peace be upon him, has announced in the first international declaration of human rights in his farewell pilgrim: The inviolability of blood, money, honor and dignity of man; and who used to commend his armies, marching to prevent war and aggression, not to kill a woman, a child, an elderly, a monk, nor an ailing person, or to cut down trees, or kill beasts of mount, such a religion could never find a legal, a humanitarian, or a moral justification for any of such sinful and vicious acts which are prohibited by Allah, the world religions, and condemned all over the world, and by the international declarations of human rights.

It is absolutely necessary to know the benefiting party behind these sabotage activities, so as to know the real instigator that harbor those who triggered them, rather than throwing accusations here and there without check.

The Assembly of Muslim Jurists in America (AMJA) in its third annual conference in Sokot, Nigeria, declares to the whole world the following:

The inviolability of blood, money honor and dignity of man, are as sacred as the sanctity of Makkah in the sacred months; and any aggression on any of such inviolabilities without any right to do so, is a deadly sin that discontents and angers Allah and His Messenger.

Combat was ordained in Islam only to prevent war and aggression, and to spread justice. Islam raised swords just for defending the religion of Islam and Muslims, and not against civilians nor non-combat men. Military actions are operated only against combating men and those who assist them in their aggression against Islam and Muslims, and against the creed of Allah.

The Assembly prohibits acts of explosions, sabotage, and violence, and considers such operations as absolute acts of war, which actually terrify secure people, shed blood, and inflicting harm on people and lands.

The religion that prohibits frightening and terrifying people, even by arms and without using them, would rather deserve to be worthy of prohibiting all forms of violence, terrorism, sabotage, and destruction, and demand the heaviest punishment on those who commit such vicious acts.

The religion that rules out that a woman who imprisoned a cat and prevented it from eating and drinking until it died, will be tortured in Hellfire; and the Prophet Muhamad, prayers and peace of Allah be upon him, told us that Allah The Almighty praised a man who saved the life of a dog when he found it so much thirsty that it ate the wet dust; and it is told that Prophet Muhamad`s second successor, Omar, declared his full responsibility before Allah in Madinah for a mule that stumbled in Iraq and got hurt for not paving the way for it.

A religion like this would never be imagined that it permits shedding blood, stealing money, and committing vicious acts against honor and dignity of innocent people, whether they are Muslims or non-Muslims. Allah has ordained in His Noble Quran: “”If anyone killed a person not in retaliation of murder, or to spread mischief in the land – it would be as if he killed all mankind, and if anyone saved a life, it would be as if he saved the life of all mankind”" (Quran, 5:32).

Finally, this is our urgent call for anyone who is involved in anything of such criminal acts in all religions and sects in the world to hasten for repentance to Allah The Almighty, and to come back to the truth which shines with its signs and its proofs, for coming back to the truth rather than being involved in mischief and disruption.

Last, we pray to Allah The Supreme to protect the whole of this Ummah and to keep it intact against acts of mischief and temptations, and to guide all humanity to His right and straight path.

Allah is the aim of our objective, Who is our Guide and Sustainer.
