While the Assembly of Muslim Jurists in America (AMJA) exercises editorial oversight over content on the web site www.amjaonline.org, every edict, article and every comment that purports or seems to have any connection to AMJA, whether it be on a web page, social-media feed, etc., anywhere online or in print, etc. necessarily represents only the views of its author(s). These disclaimers apply to any speech, writing, or image, created or posted by any person (hereinafter referred to as “Scholar/Author” or “Scholars/Authors”) including but not limited to AMJA scholars, members, consultants, staff, guest writers, and regular or casual visitors to the site.
Our scholars choose what subjects and questions they wish to discuss and answer, and produce or compile their own content (including the text of edicts, quotations, graphics, videos, etc.). Each Scholar/Author is responsible for insuring that his or her content is either original material or is used legally. Each Scholar/Author is responsible for insuring that his or her content is appropriate for publication on the internet, in tone, language, message, etc.

All edicts/articles that relates to the sanctions and legal punishments, are not intended to be executed and are not be taken out by individuals, rather by organized and recognized governments only. AMJA rejects any ideology or effort that aims to put the United States of America and Islam in conflict. Such conflict will only lead to human suffering and loss of valuable opportunities for mutual cooperation. AMJA does not support the propagation of enmity and violence towards the American people and their institutions. When AMJA publishes an edict/article under the user name “Permanent Fatwa Committee,” that content is solely the responsibility of AMJAonline Inc., a Marryland NonProfit Corporation.
AMJA reserves the right at any time, for any reason or for no reason, to edit or remove any of the content posted anywhere in the domain www.amjaonline.org. AMJA also reserves the right at any time to take any action with respect to any content or information within its control to comply with the requirements of any law or legal authority.
Role of General Council Members:
The General Council Members comprises of an odd number of scholars, each of which has a PhD degree in one of the fields of Islamic Jurisprudence. They are known for their knowledge, piety and righteousness. Their main job is to issue Islamic verdicts, Fiqh and jurisprudential conclusions also to conduct jurisprudential research regarding contemporary issues in various fields (social, economic, and other fields of life).
