The Assembly of Muslim Jurists of America sends the best of congratulatory messages to all the Muslims generally, and to the Muslims of the United States specifically, for the upcoming blessed days of Eid Al-Adha.
And it announces to them that the first day of the month of Dhul Hijjah is Friday, June 7, 2024, and that Saturday, June 15 is the day of Arafah, and that Sunday, June 16 is the blessed day of Eid Al-Adhah. This is based on what was announced in the Land of the Two Holy Mosques, so congratulations to you all, and may Allah accept from us all our righteous deeds.
And the reason for what was mentioned in this announcement is due to: not taking into consideration differing sightings for the blessed Eid Al-Adha, and that if it is possible to take into consideration the difference of opinion on differing sightings for Eid Al-Fitr, it is difficult for this to be possible for Eid Al-Adha due to this Eid being connected to the Hajj rites, and the Muslims from all over the world coming to the Sacred House, and the rites of Hajj that occur around it.
And because this is what the majority of Islamic centers and organizations in this country are upon, and the Prophet peace be upon him said: The fast is the day the people fast, the breaking of the fast is the day the people break their fast, and the sacrifice is the day the people sacrifice,” narrated by Al-Tirmidhi, Abu Dawood, and Al-Bayhaqi and it is an authentic Hadith.
And once again the Assembly congratulates the Muslims in general and the Muslims in the United States specifically, and it hopes that their righteous deeds are accepted during these blessed days, and it reminds them of the statement of the Prophet peace be upon him as is narrated by Ibn Abbas: There are no days during which the righteous action is so pleasing to Allah than these days (i.e., the first ten days of Dhul-Hijjah).” He was asked: “O Messenger of Allah, not even Jihad in the Cause of Allah?” He (ﷺ) replied, “Not even Jihad in the Cause of Allah, except in case one goes forth with his life and his property and does not return with either of it,” narrated by Al-Tirmidhi and its origin is in Al-Bukhari.
And we beseech Allah the Exalted to save the oppressed believers wherever they may be, especially our brothers and sisters in Sudan, Gaza and those around Bayt Al-Maqdis who are going through a very difficult time. may Allah ease their situation, have mercy upon them, accept their dead, cure their injured, and aide them with His aide. He is the one who is able to do all things.
And Allah is the one whom is intended, and He is the One who guides to the straight path.
