Question
Is it okay under some reason to lead jummuah in two different places on the same day? Where he himself in first is the Imam but promises to the second place only that particular day that he would come only if there was a replacement there unfortunately by mistake no one was available in the first place except him therefore he had to leave the first place Jumuah and then the second place, where there was no permanent Imam, please give a legal verdict with other Imams opinions.

Answer

Answer:

Wa alaikum assalaam:

The Prophet (PBUH) prohibited Muslims from performing any of the five obligatory daily prayers twice on the same day. The scholars limited this to any repetition without a reason, because other Hadeeths mentioned repletion of prayers in front of the Prophet. So, it is OK to lead or perform the Jumu’ah or any other daily prayer twice for a reason. Acceptable reasons could be like having no other Imam, just like situation you mentioned, or doing the prayer alone then finding a congregational prayer,..etc. Allah knows best.
