All praise is due to Allah, and may His peace and blessings be upon the Messenger of Allah.

The Assembly of Muslim Jurists of America (AMJA) congratulates Muslims throughout the world, and specifically in the United States, on the arrival of Eid al-Fitr and announces the following:

Tomorrow, Thursday, March 19, 2026, will complete the 30th day of Ramadan due to the lack of confirmed credible moon sightings. All claims of sighting have been deemed invalid, as the moon had not yet been born in the regions where the sighting was announced. A condition for accepting sighting claims is that the crescent must be born before sunset on the last day of Ramadan in the location where the sighting is claimed.

Accordingly, Friday, March 20, 2026, will mark the beginning of Shawwal and the day of Eid al-Fitr.

We pray to Allah to aid our oppressed brothers and sisters wherever they may be, and to fulfill His promise by granting them relief and victory.

Allah is All-Knowing of people’s intentions, and He alone guides to the straight path.
