Salamo Alaikom,
I have a question regarding the celebration of non-Muslim holidays. Since the Thanksgiving Holiday in November, some Muslim brothers and sisters state that the celebration of Thanksgiving, Father`s Day, Mother`s Day, etc., are permissible, due to the fact that these holidays have nothing to do with the Christian or Jewish religions.
They state that these are national holidays, and not religious ones. I have read elsewhere, many fatwas regarding this issue, however, the aforementioned brothers and sisters would like scholars having the knowledge of American life give us a fatwa. Jazakamullahu Khairan. Wa Salamo Alaikom.
All holidays mentioned above are affiliated in somehow with other religions .
Celebrating these holidays is not lawful for muslims.
Allah knows best.
