Question
wa rahmatuh Allahi wa barakatuh,
I am pregnant with my first child Masha`Allah, and am due in March insha`Allah.
I have received gifts from family members such as baby clothing and sheets and blankets that have little images on them like cartoon characters
or little animals, etc.  I am wondering if this is permissible in Islam to use such items for your baby (clothing and bedroom items with
images on them)... I thought that I remembered reading about how Rasool s.a.w. had Aisha cut a curtain with a horse on it and make it into
pillow-cases, and I`m wondering if the same would apply in this situation?  I am reluctant to use such clothing and material items even with these
cartoon images for children and it just doesn`t feel right, but some others have told me that it`s fine because it is just "children items" for example it`s ok for children to play with dolls.
I`m confused and insha`Allah hope to hear from you on what to do.  I`m looking for an official fatwa from a Sheik insha`Allah.
May Allah SWT bless you for your help and grant you the highest level of Jannah, Ameen.
Jazak Allahu Khair, wasalaam aliakoum,
sister Andrea/Saleema

Answer

Using all what you mentioned in your question for your baby is allowed.

Some other authentic narrations show that the Prophet SAAW allowed Aisha RAA to use dolls. The blankets and other materials for babies are similar to that.
