I am a doctor, and I have Irritable Bowel Syndrome, which means that I have extremely frequent, almost continuous flatulence (sometimes up to a few times each minute), so it is very uncommon that I am able to maintain my wudu (ablution) for the full duration of the prayer. I saw some fatawa stating that only one wudu would be required for the prayer in such a situation.
This year, I intend to go for Hajj. My specific questions are as follows:
1. Taraweeh: in our masjid (mosque), taraweeh (the nightly Ramadan prayer) follows the isha (nightfall) prayer by a few minutes. Can I make wudu once for the isha and pray the sunnah (highly recommended optional prayer) and taraweeh prayers with the same wudu?
2. During Hajj: because of the crowd of people, it may not be possible for me during tawaf (circling the Ka`abah) or tahajjud (late night prayers) to go to make Wudu every time I pass wind. Can I perform the entire tawaf or qiyam (tahajjud: late night prayers) with the same wudu?
3: Daily prayers: is the same wudu sufficient for all components of salat (the formal prayer)? (For example, can I pray the fard (obligatory), sunnah (optional) and witr (final daily) prayers for isha with the same wudu?)
For each single ritual, you need to perform a new wudu, and this wudu will be sufficient for any rituals associated with the main one.
For instance, one wudu after the isha prayer is due would be enough to perform the isha, the sunnah, taraweeh, and witr as well. One wudu would be sufficient for performing tawaf around the Ka’abah. But if you want to pray tahajjud after the tawaf, you would need a new wudu, and so forth.
May Allah (swt) grant you recovery from this affliction. Ameen.
