Question
Assalamu Alaykum Wa Rahmatullahi Wa Barakatuh, My question is about making Duaa at the Yemeni corner. How true is that Duaa at that place is answered? Is there any authentic hadeeth or a strong proof that Duaa there is answered? May Allaah reward you with all good.

Answer
In the name of Allaah, the Benevolent, the Merciful. All praise is due to Allaah, and peace and blessings be upon the Messenger of Allaah, his family, companions, and those loyal to him. The prescribed way for whoever circulates around the Ka’bah for Tawaf is to touch the Yemeni corner with his hand whenever that is possible, and not to kiss it, nor to harm anyone else there. However, if one cannot do so because of the crowd, then he can just point to it with his hand. I do not know any particular Duaa when touching the Yemeni corner, and I do not know any authentic hadeeth that states that Duaa there is answered. However, it is prescribed to increase in Duaa and Dhikr for those who circulate the Ka’bah, and to say when between the Yemeni corner and the Black Stone, {“Our Lord, grant us in this life a good deed and in the Hereafter a good deed, and protect us from the Hellfire”}, and there is no particular Duaa during the Tawaf for each round around the Ka’bah, as some pilgrims wrongly think. On the contrary, it is allowed for a Muslim to recite the Qur’an, or to make Dhikr or any Duaa from the authentic Sunnah. And we ask Allaah for success for everyone. And Allaah, the Most High, knows best.
