I am currently six months pregnant and have had my two hospital scans. At the scan, I asked to know the gender of the baby, but the midwife could not tell. Would it be gunah (haram) for me to book a private scan to find out the gender? I would feel really bad if I was doing gunah.

Doing a scan to know the gender of the baby is allowed, and I do not know why you think it would be haram, unless when you say “private scan” in your question, it means that a male will do it for you. If this is the case, I do not see any necessity for that, and you should avoid it.
