Assalamu alaikum,

At the birth of my son, I only slaughtered one sheep because of my financial situation, and now I am expecting a girl and I have the means. Can I slaughter two sheep, including the remaining one for the boy?

Answer

Yes, you can. The `aqiqah (birth ceremony/sacrifice) can be made up whenever you are able to afford it, even years later.
