Question

Assalam alaikum,

What exactly should be our position on the Hamas movement be? Are they wrong? Is Egypt wrong for not opening the crossing? If Hamas were wrong, what should our position be towards the aggression against them? What institution in Egypt can guarantee us that our donations will get to the people of Gaza? Please advise for everything has gotten all mixed up in this time of conflict.

Answer

In the Name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful,

All praise is due to Allah, and may peace and blessing be upon the Messenger of Allah, upon his household, his companions and those who have followed him. To proceed:

AMJA has issued a declaration in which specific calls have been made to various sectors, both local and international, so please refer to it on the site in Arabic. Now is not the time to discuss the errors of Hamas or any other Palestinian groups because the issue has gone beyond the limits of such details and has become critical for nearly one and a half million common, innocent, defenseless believers who have no relation to this Palestinian infighting, nor are they involved in it. They are being subjected to complete destruction and collective punishment in its most grotesque form, around the clock. At this point, helping them has become obligatory on everyone, in every situation, each according to his ability, including every kind of possible and available support, in view of the circumstances surrounding the matter, both locally and internationally.

And Allah Almighty is the Most High, and He knows best.
