Assalamu Alaykum Wa Rahmatullaahi Wa Barakatuh. It was mentioned in some narrations for the companions that Allaah created certain creations before Adam that were called Jinn and Binn. We would like to know what these creations are?

In the name of Allaah, the Benevolent, the Merciful. All praise is due to Allaah, and peace and blessings be upon the messenger of Allaah, his family, companions, and those loyal to him. It is known amongst the scholars that Allaah, the Majestic and High, created the Jinn before creating Adam, and that He had commanded Iblees who was of the Jinn to prostrate to Adam after He had created him with His hand and blew in him of His soul. Iblees refused and became one of the disbelievers. As for the Binn, I have never heard of them, and I wish that you would busy yourself with that which benefits you. Indulging in any issue upon which no action is built is considered over-burdening oneself which we have been forbidden from doing. May Allaah increase you in cautiousness and success, and Allaah, the Most High, knows best.
