Question
Assalaamu alaikum,
I have two questions: Is it permissible to ever wear shoes inside the musalla (prayer room), and are you allowed to play music inside the masjid (mosque)?
Answer
Wearing shows inside the musalla is allowed as needed if the shoes are clean. Even praying while wearing shoes is allowed, too, since the Prophet (saaws) sometimes used to pray with his shoes on.
As for playing or listening to music inside the masjid, it is not allowed, neither inside nor outside the masjid, since playing and listening to music is prohibited.
