May the peace, mercy and blessing of Allah be upon you,
Is it permissible to use sperm from a sperm bank since I suffer from a sperm count of zero because that is the only available solution before me now to get my wife pregnant?
I hope you will reply as quickly as possible, and may Allah reward you well.
In the Name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful,
All praise is due to Allah, and may peace and blessing be upon the Messenger of Allah, upon his household, his companions and those who have followed him. To proceed:
What you mentioned is not permissible for you because the process of artificial insemination is not permissible unless the ovum is from the wife and the semen is from the husband. If a third party is involved, it delegitimizes the procedure and makes it prohibited, and the embryo created thereby is not the legitimate child of anyone who does so. I ask Allah, the Glorious and Exalted, to relieve your distress and to make you a solution and a way out of this dilemma. We advise you to make plenty of istighfar (seeking forgiveness from Allah), for the Most High has said (interpretation of the meaning): {“I said (to them): ‘Ask forgiveness from your Lord; verily, He is Oft-Forgiving; * He will send rain upon you in abundance. * And give you increase in wealth and children, and bestow upon you gardens and bestow upon you rivers.’”}[Nuh 71:10-12] It is not too much to ask that Allah grant you what you want from His Grace and Mercy, so have a good opinion of your Lord. Keep knocking on His door. Enjoy being at His doorstep and be content with the share He has given you, for He is surely more merciful to you than the mother who bore you and He has a greater right over you than you have over your own self.
And Allah Almighty is the Most High, and He knows best.
