Question
Asslamoalikum, please explain when Prophet SAW say that angels dont enter a house where there is a dog; then how come the "Angel of Death" will enter in that house for taking ones life. note that here Prophet SAW used the word Angel generally and not specifically for angel of blessing. this is a very solid argument posed by those who keep dogs. Secondly, if a Doctor prescribes someone to pet dog to alleviate depression or anxiety or any other disease than what is the ruling?

Answer
All praise be to Allah, and may His Blessings and Peace be on His Last Messenger, What are meant by the hadeeth are the angels of mercy and blessings, not the angels that count one's deeds or the angel of death. Even, if the prophet didn't specify here which angels, it is a general statement specified by the very context and other proofs. Any sane individual would recognize that if someone commits a sin (images and dogs and whatever are equal or worse), that will keep the angels away, this sin shall not keep away the angels that count one's deeds or take his soul…etc. As for the petting of dogs, such individuals may benefit from petting cats, rabbits, outdoor chicken…etc. petting is not only limited to dogs, and the injuries inflicted by dogs on children daily, as seen in emergency rooms across the west, are an overwhelming testimony that dogs are not appropriate pets. Islam permits their use as guard, sheep, farm, hunting and guide dogs. Allah knows best.
