Assalamualaikum Warahmatullah. I wanted to know if one gets a job by lying in the interview about his experience, would the income obtained from that job be haram? Jazakumullahu Khairan
AAWW
Lying is a great sin and bad quality in Islam in which a Muslim must not obtain. But committing such a sin in an interview does not necessarily make the whole income a pure Haram one, especially when the qualifications and the experience the potential employee has are good enough to do the job and match the expectations. In such a case, asking Allah swt for expiating the sin is enough to expiate it. However, if the person is disqualified and might harm others or fall short in servicing them, then keeping this job is prohibited and the income is prohibited too.
