Assalaam alaykum. May Allah guide us all to live and practice His deen better. I have read that silk is prohibited for men in this life. I work in a corporate environment where it is customary to wear shirts and ties in the office. Is it permissible to wear silk ties as they do not touch my body? Is the ruling against wearing of silk for larger clothing such as shirts and robes, or is it more comprehensive? Thank you for your attention & response. Wearing artificial silk is allowed, only the natural one is prohibited for males in Islam. Most of the ties in the market are made from artificial silk and not from the natural one, that is why they are cheap. So, wearing these kinds of ties is basically allowed.
