Assalamu Alaykum I was wondering about the rules regarding najis things. -Is it true that if something touches wet najis (i.e. a hand brushes against a wet part of clothing after a wet dream) but itself does not become wet, is it not najis, since it has not imbibed any of the najaasah itself? - What is the rulings on blood from cuts? For example, we all get small cuts , scratches, paper cuts, and the like. If one was to put a tissue directly on it with pressure, blood would show up on the tissue. Most of them time people do not put bandages on such small cuts, can we simply overlook them?
Alhamdu Lillah
1- Semen is pure and not a filth or Najis according to the strongest opinion of scholars. Aysha RAA used to wipe the semen from the clothes of the Prophet SAAW, and then he dress them.
But touching a liquid Najasah (blood or urine for instance) by anything is enough to transfer the Najasah to that subject or substance, and whether or not the Najasah was imbibed by it.
2- Blood is filthy but is overlooked if it is from the person himself. In other words, if someone’s body or clothes got contaminated with his own blood, then it is exempted.
The above rule is according to the Shafeiy school, and it is a sound approach.
