As-Salamu 'Alaykum wa Rahmatullahi wa barakatuh: The only way that slavery is permitted is through prisoners of war? When females are captured during warfare, are they under the category of right hand possession? If they are under right hand possession, can sex be had with them? If sex can be had with them, must it be done with permission from them, or is permission from them not necessary and isn't that rape? Was-Salamu 'Alaykum
Alhamdu Lillah
Slavery does not exist nowadays and, hopefully, will not exist again in sha Allah. Enslaving people was a militant tradition the winners used to apply against the captives of the defeated army. When Islam approved this tradition, it was taken as (mutual treatment) and not for a tendency of enslaving people.
In case slavery comes to existence again, any questions related to slavery will be answered accordingly in sha Allah.
