I am unemployed for almost two years,here and there I do make a little money which is not enough for the household expences but have some saving, which is being used for day to day living, I am paying Zakat, am I doing it right? because savings are shrinking fast.

After you subtract your liabilities from your assets, if the remaining assets exceed the nisaab (zakat threshold), then you will need to pay zakat. Allah knows best.
