Salaam, I would like to know if it is okay to pay zakat monthly. I know for example that I will have to pay a minimum of 3 thousand dollars in zakat, is it okay for me to pay 250 dollars a month leading up to Ramadan when I pay my zakat ul mal? I will at that time calculate and pay more if I need to. Also, I send money to a family that is in need, and it helps them to get it monthly, as to know they will be able to purchase necessary goods. Also, if I sponsor a child via Islamic releif can I send my zakat monthly. Main reason for this is to not have to pay a huge chunck of money all at once, but to budget it into my monthly expense, and for the recipients to have a constant income. May Allah accept our good deeds.
Alhamdu Lillah
Paying Zakah in advance is permissible, but the actual Zakah money has to be accurately calculated in the Zakah due date, consequently, the already paid money could be adjusted . Extra payments could be deducted from the Zakah of the next year, and the difference has to be paid in full in case of not matching the due Zakah.
May Allah SWT bless your wealth and accept from you.
