My sister-in-law is engaged and wants to marry this summer. My wife wants to help her with the marriage expenses especially that her family does not afford helping with these expenses. We were wondering if our annual Zakat can be paid to her so that she can get married?. JAK

Absolutely, you can pay your Zakah to your sister- in-law. Anyone other than your dependants could be your Zakah recipient, obviously, if he is among the eight categories of the eligible Zakah recipients.
