Assalamu alaykum,
my question is regarding following hadith: Quote: Abu Huraira said,
"I heard Allah's Apostle saying, 'There is none born among the off-spring of Adam, but Satan touches it. A child therefore, cries loudly at the time of birth because of the touch of Satan, except Mary and her child." Then Abu Huraira recited: "And I seek refuge with You for her and for her offspring from the outcast Satan" (3.36) (Sahih Bukhari 4.641)
There are several anti-islam websites which claim that this hadith would contradict the reality, because not every child would cry when it's born. Likewise there are some women who claim that their children hadn't cried when they are born. What's the answer regarding that? Barakallahu feekum.
In Arabic langue when you make general statement it dose not mean that every single one will be included, but it refers to the majority of people, and that is the reality of the newborns, that most of them cray when they are born.
