Assalaamu Alaykum , Alhamdulillah I've been wearing niqab for three years and I have just finished high school. I will be going to college this year and was wondering how I should pray when I go there. If i cant find a private area and have to pray in public should I pray with my niqab? Would I have to pray differently in public? JazakAllahu Khairan! And may He bless you with the highest of Jannah!
All praise be to Allah, and may His blessings and peace be on His last prophet and messenger, Muhammad.
Wearing niqab during salah is disliked since it prevents one from touching the ground with the skin of his face. If a woman who regularly wears niqab prays in public, she may still wear it. In this case, it wouldn’t be disliked, as indicated by the Hanbali scholar, al-Buhooti, in Kash-shaf al-Qina’, and others.
Allah knows best.
