Question
Salam Alikom, I friend of mine and her husband are currently going through IVF treatment in the UK. She has a question which she is unsure of. On her application for the treatment the doctors want to know IF in the event of her husband dying during the treatment, would she carry on with the IVF or should they go ahead and distroy his sperm? Her and her husband are unsure which is the best option following sharia as much as possible. Jazak Allah khir
Answer
All praise be to Allah, and may His blessings and peace be on His last messenger, Muhammad,
If the fertilized ovum has not been already implanted in her womb, she may not do that after the death of her husband.
Allah knows best.
