as-salamu aleikoum warahmatullah shaykh, Alhamdulillah my family is ahl wudhu and salaah but when using the toilet many times I find that the toilet seat is most likely wet with water but it could be something else, what is the ruling of wetness on toilet seat? I don't wash it but only dry it with paper because asl is that it is taahir isn't it? What is the ruling of the water that flows to the sides is your bottom cheeks while doing istinjaa, especially because this cannot be avoided? Some people claim this is naajis but if this would be the case I have to wash the cheeks and the seat and eventually this would lead to waswasah, wal a'yadu billah. Bi Allahi tawfieq. wassalamu aleikoum
All praise be to Allah, and may His blessings and peace be on His last messenger, Muhammad,
This is part of takalluf (excessiveness) and would lead to waswasah (obsessions). The second issue particularly will result into a perpetual vicious circle of najasah. So far, you have been doing the right thing in both cases. Continue to cast those obsessions away.
Allah knows best.
