Question

I am from Pakistan but working in Doha Qatar Radio Station as a computer technician. Some of my friends told me working in a radio station is haram. I have family here. If I quit this job then I don't have another job because finding other jobs is very hard here.

Answer

In the name of Allah, the Most Merciful, the Grantor of Mercy

All praise belongs to Allah, and may prayers and peace be upon Allah’s final Messenger.

[The permissibility of] working in a radio station depends on what they broadcast and what you do for them. If what they broadcast is wholesome, working there should be just fine. If it is not, then it also depends on how unwholesome it is and what is your role. If your role is not directly involved with something haram, then the problem will only be your helping them out indirectly to eventually do something haram. In this case, you should keep the job, but earnestly look for a better and more wholesome job. Once you find that, you should move to it.

Allah knows best.
