Assalamualaikum.
Is it true that the place where the blood of udhiyah has been shed is protected from all evil and jinns, etc.?
In the name of Allah, the Most Merciful, the Grantor of Mercy
All praise belongs to Allah, and may prayers and peace be upon Allah’s final Messenger.
A'ishah (may Allah be pleased with her) reported that the Prophet (blessings and peace be upon him) said,
“On the Day of Sacrifice, the son of Adam does not do anything more beloved to Allah than shedding blood. It will come on the Day of Resurrection with its horns, hairs, and hoofs. The blood shall fall before Allah in an esteemed place before it reaches the ground. So be contended with doing it.” [Reported by at-Tirmidhi.]
This hadith means that the blood shed is accepted by Allah and highly valued before it falls on the ground.
It must be known though that this is running blood which is najis, so it is forbidden to smear oneself with it. Using it to bless one’s body or place, etc., is a superstition and a reprehensible and ignorant innovation.
Allah knows best.
